For 25 years I have fostered and nurtured our monthly Community Dance, as well as calling and arranging bands for festivals, weddings, and special events. Many clubs and organizations have me lead the dances for their groups.

I have visited over 200 schools, some quite regularly, frequently mixing ages and abilities. Family dances and Maypoles are a specialty. I play banjo, guitar, harmonica, Irish Bodhran, and tin whistle. I also work with local musicians and bands.

We walk through all dances, and then do them. I do old "Playparties"... action dances with singing.. when younger children are part of the group, and Big Circle, Reel, and Square Dances with older students and adults. I also lead Contra and Irish Ceili dances.

In schools I usually lead hour long "sessions" with two or more classes, and prefer mixing ages for first exposures, and then focusing on various ages and styles for following experiences.

In doing hundreds of community and wedding dances, I have become adept at assessing groups, and choosing attainable, traditional dances that focus group energy while allowing individuals to develop their skills naturally and joyfully.

I am proud to be a Minnesota Roster Artist for over 20 years!
